Vaginal Tightening Surgery (Vaginoplasty)
WHO IS VAGINAL TIGHTENING SURGERY FOR?
Vaginal Tightening Surgery is generally a surgical procedure sought in cases of vaginal expansion due to childbirth, aging, or other reasons. The aim of this surgery is to narrow the vagina, achieving a tighter structure and improvements both aesthetically and functionally. Known as vaginoplasty, this procedure helps the vagina attain a younger and more robust condition.
VAGINAL TIGHTENING SURGERY TECHNIQUE
Vaginal tightening surgery is fundamentally performed using two methods: posterior colporrhaphy and anterior colporrhaphy. Posterior colporrhaphy is used to stitch together tissues on the back wall of the vagina, while anterior colporrhaphy is applied when the front wall needs to be narrowed. These techniques are derived from "colpos" (vagina) and "raphy" (stitching) and refer to narrowing the back (posterior) and front (anterior) walls of the vagina respectively.
Pre-surgical preparations are similar to those for labiaplasty. Patients arrive at the hospital fasting and dehydrated on the day of the surgery and are put under anesthesia before the procedure begins. The surgery generally lasts 30-40 minutes, and patients are not expected to feel pain. It is possible to listen to soothing music during the procedure.
Vaginal tightening surgery is mostly applied to the back wall, where the specified tissue is removed and tightened to achieve narrowing. If the vagina is excessively widened and additional issues like bladder prolapse are present, anterior colporrhaphy can also be applied. The success of the surgery underlines the need for the entire vagina to be evenly and neatly narrowed. After the surgery, a tampon is placed inside the vagina to prevent bleeding or hematoma formation, and patients can stand up after the effects of spinal anesthesia wear off.
AFTER VAGINAL TIGHTENING SURGERY
Post-surgery stitches are located inside the vagina and are of the self-dissolving type, so there's no need for stitch removal. Patients take antibiotics to prevent infection and painkillers for any potential pain while resting at home post-surgery. Additionally, batikon is provided for dressing the stitches on the external part.
The first sexual intercourse after surgery can sometimes be challenging and improves over time. A few drops of bleeding are normal during the first intercourse, and over time, the vagina adapts to the penis, reducing these difficulties.
Vaginal tightening surgery is a day-long operation. We can discharge patients who wish to leave on the day of the operation. For our international patients, we offer a one-night stay at the hospital post-surgery before they return to their countries.
